Independence day speech 2011
Dear friends
2 days from now we will be celebrating our independence day. It's an opportunity to celebrate the birth of our nation and to also express our gratitude to the millions of people who sacrificed either in lives or in kind so that we could get our freedom; freedom to live the way we wanted ;the freedom to live our choices
65 years we have come a long way. Sure we have many struggles which are unique to the Indian nation but at the same time, world is a witness to the fact that if there was ever a better time to be an Indian it is now .
In our own lifetime we have never seen the promise that we are witnessing today. A promise of a better future.; the promise of better living standards for our people.
And its not only about progress its also about celebrating many uniquenesses of our great nation . Our culture is an amalgamation of various religions castes, creeds and languages . Our existence and unity is a proud moment . Not many nations so young have been able to manage such diversity along with progress that we have made as a nation
65 years have been a tribute to the unity of our nation. A tribute to How people of various types have contributed to the making of our great nation.
Together we have succeeded.
Together we will have to fight the many challenges which will come our way.
Lastly I will end up with a question Nehru raised on the 1st day of our independence . Are we brave enough and wise enough to grasp this opportunity and accept the challenge of the future
Today standing here as an ordinary citizen of the great Indian nation I can proudly say, yes we are brave : yes we are wise and there has never been a better time than now.
Thanks with all the positivism
Jai Hind

Farid and the jinn
Farid, the jinn and his story
this night was a bit different than the one in the past. In the stillness of the night, Farid felt a strange unease. He felt strange vibrations as if thoughts were going besides him and somehow they wanted to tell something to him. Since these were making him anxious, he felt somehing wrong was to happen. He thought of the earthquakes and the dogs who used to cry. He knew animals could predict events and more so if the events were catastrophic in nature. He felt maybe it was for something he shared with the animals that he was coming across some strange vibratioms. Like the animals, Farid too wanted to cry, but then he did not. He couldnot get the audacity of an animal and thus kept quite.
Soon it was time for sunrise and Farid felt asleep.
This was becoming a daily routine with Farid and his nights were all about his mind wandering from one thought to another. He could realise, it was not he who controlled his mind in the night. One day, Farid decided to share his plight with his mother. His mother on hearing it, was frightened and asked him not to sleep in his room and asked him to share the room with his younger brother Zaki. She was afraid some jinn has taken over Farid and he was possesed by him. Although she did not tell this to Farid, he realised his mother was thinking on those lines
Sleeping in Zaki's room hardly brought any respite to young Farid. He continued to remain awake and only difference over the past was Farid's irritation on why Zaki was able to sleep so early, while Farid could not. Farid's nights were spent largely alone, in a sense, he did not have anyone to speak to but himself.
One day,it was another usual night and Zaki had already slept and Farid saw a mouse jumping by his bed. For some reason Farid felt, the mouse wanted to tell something to him. He jumped after the mouse but it ran away and it made Farid virtually crestfallen. He felt as if his message was lost. Morning, he narrated the incident to his mother, who was frightened by the incident and realised her folly of not yet taking Farid to any Maulvi. His mother in her mind decicded, it was enough and she did not wish to lose her son to any jinn and it was high time to take Farid to a Maulvi.
After a couple of days Farid was called to join his uncle Anwar and mother on a journey to the nearby village of Barari. Barari was famous for its Baalooshahis and cure for those who suffered from possession by jinns and bhoots. Farid was very inquisitive on why he was being taken to Barari, but then in tune with his quite nature, did not ask anything and silently joined in. Wearing a white kurta, payjama and topi, Farid looked everybit of the madarsa boy his mother had always seen him as. Soon they were at Barari and were outside a small hut, which had few people standing outside. His uncle whispered something to his mother and soon the 3 entered inside the hut. Maulvi sahab was inside the hut and sitting on a small charpoy, which did not have any bedsheet on it. He was sitting silently on the charpoy and indicated his 3visitors in Farid, his mother and uncle to sit besides him.
Maulvi sahab had a look at the boy's forehead and asked his umcle, how long he has been like that, to which Farid's mother affirmed, right since he was born, something was not right about the boy. Maulvi sahab listened patiantly to each word of Farid's mom and gave her a bottle of water and advised her to offer a teaspoom of water to Farid every morning. His mother sounded worried and asked why Farid is like that, to which maulvi sahab replied,he will check and find out who is possessing Farid and will ask the jinn to leave him.
The same day Farid and the rest came back to the village. From the course of the journey to reaching his house Farid has not uttered a word and was just passive to everything around him. Farid's mother did try to make eye contavt with him, so as to humour him, but Farid was hardly interested and looked elsewhere. His mother was more worried, if Farid has gone into another level of insanehod and she was silently praying to Allah that his son becomes normal.
A few days later, Farid's mother came to him and gave the staple of the water, the Maulvi sahab had given to her. Suddenly she saw Farid crying and was in a very frightened state. His mother worried gently took Farid in her arms and tried to pacify him. However this was a different moment and Farid soon started shivering. His mother soon called others and with the help of a few people Farid was finally controlled. Soon after farid appeared completely normal and did not appear to be the shivering self, he was till a few moments ago. His mother then tried to talk to him and asked how he is feeling. Farid first was silent and then started speaking. His first word and Farid's mother was frightened. The voice was not of Farid and was of some old man.
Farid started saying why she is being given the water, which Maupvi sahab had given and he did not appreciate that. Farid also threatened to go destructive if he was everboffered that water again. However soon Farid's uncle Anwar also joined in and after seeing him Faridnbecame quite. What made him quite was beyond comprehension to Farid's mother, but she still was too happy to welcome it. Again she put herbhands on Farid's head and said, fine, whe will not give the water again. Farid by now had become normal and was becoming suspiscious why so much of fuss was around him. Soon after he himself took the bottle and drank afew teaspoons from that.

Gimme my all
Gimme my music
I want to sing
I want to hum
Gimme all i want
I wanna just do it
Gimme my love
I wish to see
From her eyes
N my eyes closed
N i will do not else
Gimme my freedom
Take off my fear
I can do all
N all alone
I just want to be in I
Gimme the sky
I wish to live in
I dont like earth
Its not my place
I no like the color
Gimme my faith
All i needed
To live my own
I dont want
I want just my own
Gimme my wings
I wanna go flying
Ryt in the sky
I want to croon
I want to fly
Oh you God
Cant you hear
My wish is so lil
All it takes
N so it becomes
I want to sing
I want to hum
Gimme all i want
I wanna just do it
Gimme my love
I wish to see
From her eyes
N my eyes closed
N i will do not else
Gimme my freedom
Take off my fear
I can do all

Dreams I live in
Dreams are what I want
Keeps me high n high
Never let's me come down
Never gets me any sorrow
Wanna be owned by my dreams
Dont want them to leave me
I fear the life
Maybe It wasn't for me
In my dreams, I croon
In my dreams, I sing
I do get my love also
Just that it's a dream
So be it
Better to dream than to live
Maybe you don't see my dreams
Maybe i am alone in it
Keeps me high n high
Never let's me come down
Never gets me any sorrow
Wanna be owned by my dreams
Dont want them to leave me
I fear the life
Maybe It wasn't for me
In my dreams, I croon
In my dreams, I sing
I do get my love also
Just that it's a dream
So be it
Better to dream than to live
Maybe you don't see my dreams
Maybe i am alone in it
